Race Day DareToB Wadowice

On race day, Team Beskidy Cycling Milówka's Jon hit the beautiful trails and brutal climbs on the half-distance 56KM DaretoB Wadowice maraton. The weather was sunny but not too hot, and the riding conditions were perfect for this challenging route, which you can view and download on Komoot. I rode the #trekbikes Procaliber I bought from TrekBielsko whom I saw represented along with GoodSport.pl. Their riders were considerably faster than me!

As the race began, the front of the field surged ahead in a flurry of speed and determination. Meanwhile, I found myself among the midfield riders, engaging in a strategic game of cat and mouse as we tackled the hills. I faired well on the inclines and lost ground on the descents where people showed no fear, or they had prior knowledge of the route. With over 2,200 metres of climb, I found the route challenging and satisfying. There were two buffet stations to refuel, and I pushed on hard after the second at 36km, gaining many places on the relentless climbs in that part of the race. Overall, this is a good event, technically testing in places and not for the faint of heart. Excellent on course directions and marshalling, too. Will I go back in 2025? Maybe.
