Race Bike Atelier Maraton Babice

This was my first Bike Atelier Maraton event, and as I have no race history with them, it meant starting last and 278th place and mass overtaking. I went on the attack from crossing the start line and up the first and toughest climb. The light rain, pouring from start to finish, tested my bike handling skills and tyre choice. I did well with the former, but a more knobbly tyre may have provided more grip. It was a well-organised multi-category event with kids' races and a family vibe. The race village had food trucks, coffee, and jet washes to clean bikes. My overtaking paid off and I finished this decent route in 127th place in 1:37:04!
